We took the Casita up a week before the show and parked it in the blacksmith shop. On Tuesday afternoon while Bernie and Herman were rearranging the shop, I made the bed in the RV, and put things away.
Friday is always school day. We have quite a few classes in for a demonstration.
My first fried peach pie of the week, definitely not my last.
JJ removes some unnecessary equipment from the shop. It was set up at the small gas engines where it was operated with a belt.
T bucket cars came by for a visit. Not all, as I think I heard there were 14 in the show.
Our set up looked pretty good I thought. Sales started slow and ended big!
Always nice to see kids interested.
On Thursday night we were invited to some friend's camp for a black pot cookout. Wade and Angel made Chicken Cordon Bleu! Check out his video of him cooking the delicious dish. Missouri River Valley Steam Engine Show #59.
Thank you Wade and Angel, and Leslie for the invite.
Be sure watch the video, like it at the thumbs up, and click to be a subscriber!
Fellow BAM member Josh Rhodes of Old Glory Creations set up next to us. His 3 days went great, good sales, until Saturday afternoon he sat down on his 1916 pedal grinder and the antique seat (cast iron) broke.
I never got a close look, but this funeral hearse was interesting.
The Reeves family always cooks sorghum on Saturday, a very long day and night for them.
Bernie and John Coats work out the details of a bracket to hang the Blacksmith shop shingle.
More fried pies! Friday they were $6, Saturday they were $5. Wish they would have stayed until Sunday, but the Amish have church.
On Saturday Lizzie and Alex came to hang out with us. Our first treat was a home cooked breakfast in the Engineer's building, later it was fried pies.
On Sunday it ended with the last of many tractor parades.
Next year is #60, I can hardly wait.
