Teach them young.

I am really getting into vintage sewing machines. I just may have someone following in my footsteps too -  a 3 year old grand daughter!

Here Miss Lizzie is sewing on a 1931 Singer, that is older than both of us added together. With her using a hand crank model, I think she is pretty safe from serious injury. I love how her mother captured the look on her face, when she looks at me for approval!

The blacksmith is helping Miss Lizzie master the pedal of this 1920's Franklin treadle. This machine has been in his family longer than he has.

I just hope Lizzie's interest keeps up!

I do love vintage and antique machines. Welcome to the family! (Are you familiar with "Treadle On?")

I hope Lizzie's interest keeps up too. I wish my granddaughters lived close enough to be able to pop over at odd moments to spend time just being here. Treausre these times!

She's 3??? Pretty concentrated for 3! I don't think you have to worry about her keeping her interest up, she seems to have inherited the genes:)

She looks so proud at the end. It looks like sewing on that one is a real work out. :)

What a treasure you have there -- both your grandaughter and those wonderful old machines. I too would like to have a treadle since that is where I first started my interest in sewing -- with my grandma too!
