Look who came after dinner

This is what the son brought in with him tonight!

He saw it crossing the road in his neighborhood so he stopped and picked it up in a 2 gallon plastic jar.

It sat on my cabinet. It's a Missouri tarantula. The picture doesn't really show you the size, but I wasn't going to let it out to really capture the measurements.

I have downloaded a video from the Missouri Conservation site. They will tell you all about it.

By the way, I made sure it went home with him too!

Eeek! Oh, I'm still shuddering after that one. Spiders... oh the horrors! If I were an ornery person (like PW), I would post a big picture of a frog in retaliation for that big hairy scary creature. Haha! But, thank goodness, I'm not that ornery... :)

Yuck! My daughter-in-law is a first grade teacher and they have a tarantula as a class pet. In the summer she brings the taraantula home with her! blessings, marlene

Big spider! Big Scary! I appreciate their usefulness in the world but I would be completely freaked if this thing were in my house. I've never actually seen a MO Tarantula and have lived in MO for all my life. Thanks for the nature lesson today.

Great, thank Patti, now I'm going to have nightmares! I am serious when I say that if one of my son's had brought that home I would have died....right there....dropped dead.

:) Did you miss me?? I'm blogging again because of you!
