I think I over did it on my birthday. . . .

Because that evening  the flu came to visit.

First of all I have two reasons to celebrate, it’s  not only my birthday,  but the cancer was removed on my birthday last year. Thank you God.

It was a fun day, I made a quick trip to town for groceries and stopped at Yellow Moon Antique shop.

Found this 3 lb. Old Judge coffee jar, with it’s original lid!  The white milk glass candy dish, I want to turn it into pin pin cushion. The lace around it will hold scissors!

My bff Margie knows me well. She sent this cute embroidery and quilt piecing project to me. I’ve already started it. She also sent other things, including a chocolate candy bar that was gone way before this picture was taken.

My bff, Diane knows I mostly  wear hoop earrings. She gave these to me. She recycled the box that I gave to her on her birthday a couple of weeks ago. Does it look familiar bff Tami?

My kids gave me some much needed storage bowl lids. Who knew there were replacements? Of course my DIL, aka Ms. amazon shopper did. They also gave me a gift card to a fairly new restaurant in town, Big Whiskey that we need to try out.

Bff Tami gave some hand made cards to me that her daughter Shelby makes. The only problem, every card they give to me, I want to frame!

I got other adorable cards too, including a pop up one.

A blacksmith friend, Robert gave a cross to me last Saturday. It’s not really a birthday present, but I’ll count it anyway!

Before bed I noticed my orchid was ready to bloom. This morning it was smiling brightly. I bought  this at Aldi’s last May.

For my birthday dinner we went to Tres Agaves, a new restaurant about 5 miles from our house. My go to meal is usually Taco al Pastor. Theirs did not disappoint. It’s all about the presentation, right Rita M.?

Unfortunately we ran into friends at the restaurant, who so kindly told them it was my birthday.

Before I go, I need to thank all my facebook friends who sent me messages, over 350! You guys are great.

Another year is in the books. I feel so blessed to be here.

God is good.

Connor turns 4!!!

Turning 4 means Grandma and Grandpa has to take a trip to sunny Florida. I must say in the 4 years we've been traveling there, the weather was the best this time.

The family has moved to a new town, a new house, and a new neighborhood that is wonderful.

The association park is located about 7 house away. This is the coolest swing ever. The parent and the child swing together! I might have liked it even more that Logan?!?!?

The birthday boy climbed to the top of the mountain with a little help from Grandpa. As Logan runs away in the back ground.

One night we went to eat at Servando's . Connor  played with my ipad. I later found this picture he took of us.

Winter Garden has the biggest and best farmer's market I have ever been to.

There were row and rows of tents. I saw lots of food trucks too!  Wish our town would have  food truck!

Connor got to try his hand at hula hooping.

The is this great back drop for photographs. Guess we should have tried it later in the day. The sun was just way too bright.

The birthday theme was super heroes. Captain America is his favorite.

Publix's did a great job on the cake.

Doesn't everyone wear a helmet when playing the Go Fish game?  That game was a big hit. It came from his Uncle Jeremy and Aunt Lori in Missouri.

One day we went to the historical downtown area. Grandpa and Connor posed for a picture.

We found this train that you could make it move by touching a particular spot on the window.

Another day we took the Sunrail train to Winter Park.

At Winter Park we went for a boat ride.

Connor loved the ride, it took us by beautiful mansions.

Logan on the other hand wasn't so happy. He didn't like being in the life jacket which didn't look comfortable at all, not to mention that it was hot for him. The boat captain was a complete a--. Apparently he never had children, couldn't stand children, had no patients . . . and was down right rude. After we returned from the 3 hour ride (Insert the Gilligan's Islands theme song), the captain declared everyone would be receiving a refund or reissued tickets. When we returned home we wrong a complaint letter. In the end they did refund Sarah's money ;) We will not be recommending them to anyone.

The boys always enjoy the train ride.

I made Connor a super hero quilt for his bed. That night as I laid him down, he said "Grandma, I like my new quilt!  Melt my heart son!

His Mom and Dad gave him his first big boy bicycle.

I left you with our farewell front yard picture. It's always a must!

Until next time boys!  Miss you!

Today the government starts paying HIM

Yes today is the Blacksmith's 62nd Birthday.  Oh how I wish he was here so I could give him a big hug, or bake him a cake, or ask him for some help . . . but for the 38th year, he is gone on his birthday. He always goes on a primitive muzzle loading squirrel hunt.

And this is why I could use his help. Our black lab Bentley was bitten, we believe by a snake. He wasn't far from me or the grand daughter when he gave out 2 little barks. But soon he started acting different, then his eyes swelled shut, his whole face started growing. I called the vet, first we give him ibuprofen (we used liquid children's stuff), later he will get antibiotics.

So from this day on the government will pay the blacksmith to stay alive!!

Happy Birthday Bernie!

I'm off the hook once again!

HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY
Dear Hubby

I know you are enjoying your day to the max on your annual "squirrel" hunting trip.

The deal is if you aren't at home on your birthday
 there is no gift exchange
 and
 no cakes to bake!

I'm scott free today . . . more ways than one!

Love ya!

It's Brady's Birthday

Today the big guy turned 9. Well officially it's not until a few minutes before midnight, but we celebrated any way all day long.

After breakfast, we did a web cam with aunt Sarah in Oklahoma. Here he is just after he opened his gift from her, a new bike helmet.

After lunch I took the brothers to Jefferson City to visit the Webkinz bus. Okay so it was called a bus, but it was really a van.

If this comes to your town, be sure and visit it with the kids. They had free games and gave away great prizes. Each boy, for a bean bag toss, won a webkinz with a key ring attached. Alex then won an outfit for one of his animals. Brady won trading cards. I couldn't get either one to do the karaoke, one prize they both lost out on.

After that we strolled downtown for the sidewalk sales. I had been looking for Elizabeth a pair of crocs. Here she models them. What a bargain for only $3.00

We all celebrated dinner at El Jimador's. Of course birthday boy got the hat, the ice cream on the face and the birthday song.

The rest of us got mini-cup cakes. Elizabeth even enjoyed hers.

And speaking of birthdays, some one at
Flat Creek has a really big birthday today. Please pop over and tell her Happy Birthday!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRADY and TAMMY!!!

It's my Birthday!!!

On this day 58 years ago I came into the world.

I grew up with two older brothers and 9 years later a baby sister.

I remember this stroller.
Now if someone would just push me.

What a happy girl I am.

Notice the bangs.
What a dress too,
black and white.

Still bangs,
plaid dress too.

No more bangs.
And no more do I look like this picture either.

And if they use this picture for my obituary . . . I will personally come back and haunt them!

And now announcing a give away.
WHY?
Because it's my birthday and it's better to give than to receive,
and
because I can.

I will give away a set of Wade seasons collectibles.

Just leave me birthday wishes.

Winner will be announced February 10
because that's plenty of time for me
to get lots of birthday wishes!
