They look just like Michigan morels. I used to go picking in the first week or two of May every year when I was a kid. Unfortunately my DH is not a mushroom lover, so I have not had these in years. I used to love them just fried up in butter with salt/pepper. YUM! You've got some good eats in that pan!
Jealous, I am! The only slightly consistent patch we've found here is in our yard. The little gray ones. It's never much, but a treat to savor slowly :) -Tammy

Oh my! I wish I had some! (Or even just a good place to hunt for some.)
Squeeeeeee!!!!!!! YAY! I've got my eyes on the may apples out our way. Can't wait!
I may have to go back to last spring's posts to see when yours came out compared to ours. Maybe they're out there hiding right now!
All to yourself, now that is a great feast. Enjoy

I'm on my way! I love morels!
You all are so lucky! I haven't found a single one yet. This will be the 2nd year in a row I haven't found any.
Okay, I had to read through the comments hoping someone would give a clue as to what morels were. HAHA!
I hope this has nothing to do with cleaning ovens ?
I never use one so how can mine need cleaning...... ?
