We don't make our own but we do have one deer made into sausage each year. We both love summer sausage and this year it was particularly good. I can't believe you guys make your own! blessings, marlene

My husband is green with envy -- he didn't even get a deer this year. He won't hunt on our 112 acres where we see a minimum of 6 deer/day. He goes to the Army base about 40 mi away. This year, he and buddy got 1 feral hog -- which was very tasty, but I miss the deer sausage.
Enjoy!

Great set of pics. I've never eaten deer meat before.

Sigh. I miss my dad.
(Apropos to nothing, did you ever remember the name of that little market at the bottom of Pierce St. in Jeff that closed when we were little (because certain little urchins were robbing the guy blind?)

Cool post & how satisfied that pile 'o sausage must have made you all feel after a job well done. I'm really interested in that smoker. We keep waffling between building & buying.
I didn't get a deer this year either. :(

Wow! That's a whole lotta deer sausage! What a lot of work, but when you take your first bite of homemade fixin's, i bet it's all worth it!

I'm impressed (and i'd be lying if i didn't admit a little envious!) ;o) You quilt, you sew, you make deer sausage...quite a very busy lady you are! How do you have time for it all???

God Bless you!
