Annie get your gun!

Life is great. The hubby is out of town for the week. I went window shopping, priced new carpet, priced  new televisions. Checked out bargains at TJ Maxx. Went to three hardware stores, Lowe's, Menard's, Westlakes, with my last stop to Hobby Lobby for fabric.  Shhhh! don't tell him.

I came home and made me a little brunch/dinner. I stir fried some shrimp, added some onions, and zucchinis.

It was so yummy!

Afterward I was washing up some dishes when I heard Bentley barking. Something he usually doesn't do. As I walked past the window, I saw a snake curled up in the drive way with it's head up in a strike position

It was only 3 weeks ago that he was bitten by a copperhead.

I screamed and screamed.  Did I tell you I have laryngitis? I really do. But somehow, my screams came out. I called him and he just kept barking. I went in, got the whistle, no deal, he was not backing off.

I went back in, and got the 22 with 3 bullets. I fired one away from Bentley and the snake. Immediately he came to my side. (Thank you very much Mr Blacksmith for teaching him that trick). I put the dog in the house and went back out.  One shot and I got him behind the head. But since I was so mad, I gave him one more shot!

DEAD!

Life is good!

Nice! A great looking supper by a woman who knows how to use a gun. Your husband is a lucky man.:-)

You're so brave! I wish I'd had a gun when I was dealing with the snakes here a while back. But maybe a gun would be a bit much when trying to get rid of a garter snake or two! LOL

Holy Moly...I hope you are around if I ever need a sharp shooter!

If I remember correctly, you get this week of alone time every year.
I am glad you are enjoying it.

What kind of carpet are you going to get? I was going to replace mine three years ago, but after looking around I could not find anything I really wanted....and the thought of moving every stinkin' piece of furniture to get it put down was overwhelming! Each year I say to DH, "Just clean it. It's good for another season!" So far it's been 24 years...one of these days I really do need to replace it!

lmao remind me not to cross you! What ever happened to the good ol chop their heads off with a hoe method! You crack me up.

Your dinner looks amazing. It reminds me that I have to get out there and pick some tomatoes.

Jim said he emailed you about the Casita and our Southern mattress. We are having fun trying to figure things out. Will blog about it soon!

You are a brave girl! Was this snake a Copperhead too? The B's are lucky to have you:)

Wow! Good shot! And so...was it a c'head? What a cap to a fun day.
By the way, your dish looks delish. I like to do shrimp for a quick/tasty meal.
