It all started on Saturday. The tree was put up, the boys were going to help decorate it, (or so they thought). It was then that
this happened . . .
Power failure to 1/2 of one strand.
It sat there all day Saturday.
And all day Sunday. Monday the hubby and 8 year old grandson worked on it. It took lots of clothes pins, a meter and lots of patience, but it was finally fixed before bedtime.
Tuesday I got it decorated. All 327 ornaments. Well 326, I broke this one. Thank goodness it wasn't one of my Christopher Radkos.
Then I made a floor lamp. Think it really qualifies as one?
This is a tree skirt I bought at an after Christmas sale last year. It's beautiful cutout felt. I put a white cloth under it to show off the snow flakes.
Here are the finished pictures of the tree.

Where's the school bus?
Please send me some o' that energy! Love the lamp! And the valance. Too bad about the ornament, and it looked like a very pretty Noah's Ark too. -Tammy
What a unique tree skirt! The tree is very pretty. I can imagine that light episode was quite a headache. I am impressed that you got them working again!
Wow, it's gorgeous!
Have you seen those light fixer gadgets advertised on the tv? I always wonder if they work...
Awesome job on the tree. Our family, all but one (that makes 15 of us) went this past Sunday to cut our trees. I guess I could have decorated it today, our other plans were postponed/canceled due to the blizzard we are having in IA. :(
Love that lamp.Great idea. I'm presently looking for a crock for a daughter for a Christmas present. I do hope Sarah had a relaxing and wonderful birthday last week, I tried to post her a message but it wouldn't go through. She, and your mother too, are both beautiful. Enjoyed the pictures of them on your blog.
