Is there an epidemic?

Yesterday day Missouri Gal and husband were out driving in Mid-Missouri and came across one of these.

Then last evening my girl friend and husband came home from a trip and their son had put one of those in their closed garage.

Today when I was working, BT let Bentley out to run and he treed one of those.

3 in one day in cold Mid-Missouri? I mean seriously it's below freezing every night. Is that leather shell insulated?

Missouri Conservation said they have been come farther north and into Missouri since 1980.

Run baby run!

Those are bazaar looking!

I've never seen one in person, I'd probably scream!

I've seen some here in Warsaw, but so far not in my yard. They can tear up a yard and if you plant anything watch out because they will dig it up looking for grubs. So one of our hookers has told us.

It's because last summer here in Texas was just too darn HOT. They are moving to cooler climates. :>}

Very strange little creatures. The shell must keep them warm at night. Maybe they are the new sign for spring...when you start seeing them you know spring is coming soon...LOL!

One of the guys in the sunday school class I help with had one die in his backyard. He had prayed for it the week before and we were getting armadillo updates for awhile. After it died, he was trying to keep it for Runge to have in their collection and had us praying that they would finally call back and come get it. I think we had three sundays worth of armadillo talk. I have never seen a live one, just dead ones on the side of the road.

I don't know, they just creep me out and I don't want them rooting around the yard. The moles are enough to have to contend with! Patti the link to the info at MC was a good read.

It's mating time so all God's creatures are moving about...armadillo are a hearty breed so the cooler climes won't bother them...they are prehistoric looking tho, aren't they? I've seen them in TX many times but in the wild.

I lived in Joplin until Aug of 1986. We did not have them there then. Not far into OK, but they had not made there as of 1986.
Same with the Indigo Bunting. I don't recall those either but not that I was watching birds all my life.
It's a crazy world! :-)

Do you think they'll migrate out here to PA?

They def are prehistoric looking. Pretty neat looking, really. I thought they lived way down south. pretty wild!
