The cat's out of the bag

Remember when I started on this back in January? Well it took me 40 days and 40 nights to completely hand quilt it all by myself.

I think it turned out beautifully. The squares were from a charm pack I won from Lori at Mountain woman at heart. I had to buy another charm pack and I purchased it at either Etsy or Ebay, I can't remember which one.

You see, it was a gift for the newlyweds. I couldn't tell you before now because they left on their honeymoon less than 12 hours after they were married. They returned from Hawaii yesterday and opened gifts last night.

I hope they have many warm nights under the quilt!

Oh my goodness! The quilt is beautiful! I don't know how to quilt by hand, so you have my complete admiration for completing a quilt at all, much less in 40 days! I know the recipients will LOVE it!

Awww Patti it is beautiful and what a sweet cherished gift for your daughter and son-in-law! I have a scarf my Mom knitted years ago and it has "hand knitted by Mom" on it and I can't tell you how much that means to me. I can only imagine how much your daughter will cherish the quilt with your handsewn inscription.

Patti it's gorgeous but more than that it's a gift from your heart that they will treasure forever. I know your thoughts and prayers went into every stitch. blessings, marlene

Oh my Patti! That quilt is so beautiful! And for you to have hand quilted it for the kids, is great. I think my hand quilting days are over......the old fingers are too stiff!

I have enjoyed all your recent festivities! What fun we've all had!
