one step forward, two steps backwards

The holidays are fast approaching.
They come every year, faster and faster.

I got the front door decorated.

I got the mud room door decorated.
You see we live in the woods.
Almost a 1/2 mile off the main road.
So why put up much?

Anyway I've been busy working on my Casita quilt.
I hope to put it in the frame after the first of the year.
By frame I mean, hand quilting frame too.

Tonight I got Elizabeth's stocking finished.

I can't believe it sat in the drawer by my recliner all summer and never hollered at me.

I still have cards to finish. Some homemade cookies and candy would be nice too.
I'm am going to make every effort to keep both feet going forward.

That quilt is so beautiful, just love it. You are gifted!!.. especially love the camper in the middle, which I remember you posting a while back. I have always loved handmade quilts and someday will splurge to own one. Not talented enough in the sewing department to make one for myself.

Love the front door! Is it purple like it looks on my moniter?

And just look at all those stockings--adorable!

Those camping scenes are just perfect for your quilt. I bet you can't wait to use it.

Question on the blueberry french toast--it is like a bread pudding?

I was just mentioning yesterday how fast Christmas seems to be coming up on us this year. I agree every year it's faster.

I LOVED LOVED LOVED everything in this post!!!!! Especially the stockings...reminds me of when I was little, my grandmother sewed me a stocking with my name in PINK!! I don't know what happened to it! :( I think it was packed away after I left the house for college and never found again!

I hear you about one step forward, two steps backwards. For the first time ever, I've decided not to send Christmas cards out. I don't have the energy or time. Maybe next year...

The wreaths look great on your doors. Simple is nice.

I had to laugh out loud when you said you and Rita went to school together. I've even talked about you to her but never used your last name. What a small world!

I love your house, it's so pretty! Got any new things off Craiglist lately? The quilt is wonderful!

At least you have a wreath on your door. We have NO decorations other than the tree and my three large floor standing candlesticks. That's it this year!

And I can't wait to see the finished quilt! What fun!
