You know... I'm not a vegetarian so my reaction is really hypocritical.. but I always have a hard time with whole pigs on a spit - I'm sure it's because the whole animal is visible, so my guilt over eating it is magnified times a hundred. I avoid pig roasts for that very reason.

I sure miss pig roasts. The aroma is unbelievably mouth-watering. I don't think I could top a lunch like that. @ Karen, one thing that might put your mind at ease is that when you roast the whole animal, more of it is eaten, less wasted, than if you eat it ''grocery store style'':)

I've only been to a couple hog roasts but I remember how the meat melted in my mouth. YUM! Dang Patti, now I'm hungry again....
