I haven't really noticed any here in Kansas City, but when I visited my parents in Warsaw over the weekend, their shells and sounds were all over the place.
What I want to know is, does it sound any better after a few glasses of wine? I thought not. Yesterday while tilling the garden, I was like a cicada target. I'm not afraid of them, and I really don't mind them that much but I just don't like them hitchhiking a ride on my skin. End of June.. they should be outa here! -T

very annoying..........do they stay all summer long? We don't have them where I live.
I for one love it. It's hypnotic, almost tantric. And oh-so-temporary: Another month from now, and this "tune" will sound like a golden oldie.

The silence now that they are gone is almost as deafening as they were! It is nice to be able to go outside again without getting bombarded.
I'm with everyone else - hope you didn't let them land in your wine!
