My friend Stephanie at Stephanie's Stuff talked about predicting the winter with persimmons. So the blacksmith and I had to check out our crop too.
We cut open many seeds, and found most with spoons, a knife or two, but no forks. According to the Old Farmer's Almanac a spoon indicates lots of heavy wet snow will fall.
Should I tell you that snow flurries are now in our Thursday of this week's forecast??????????
Do you think it makes any difference that he had to go 2 miles to get these persimmons??????

Our persimmon seeds had spoons in the too. We live in Davisville, MO.
Well, gosh, usually I would be thrilled , but I have so many DR appts. coming up I hope it doesn't come till January. Anyway it will be pretty no matter when it comes.
We don't have persimmons this year (off year for our trees). Does that mean you get lots of snow and we get none???
Tell me you are kidding about the snow flurries....
I've heard that too-but I've never cut one open. I need to check my seeds too.
