and WHITE.
You see Karen at Sew many Ways had a red and white fabric swap. I sent in 125 - 5 inch squares and in exchange I got 125 different 5 inch squares!
I opened this package last night after our marathon canning fest and I was so tickled.
I played with every pieces. I grouped them, I regrouped them and then I started allover regrouping them again.
My mind is a whirl on how to set them together. For some reason blue and white vintage fabric keeps popping into my head. Then I think solid red. I sometimes see solid white. How about all polka dots? Maybe strips. I then fall back to the vintage blue and white.
As for as a pattern to use, I'm open to any suggestions.
In this group I love the leaf fabric, it has a white square just big enough to embroidery something on it. Something like thanks to Karen I got these awesome fabrics.
I spy puppy dog prints.
I spy birds.
Something here reminds me of candy canes.
Elephants and lady bugs in the same group!
Peppermint twist and horseshoes?
Strawberries!
I love the simplicity of some of these.
Paisley!!
Karen even included a gift. You do the math, there were 125 who participated. She made a lot of flowered Tee's.
And the bonus was a bag of selvages. I'm not sure how many of us won a bag, but I know I was sure glad to get one. Now I need to check out one of the selvage quilt books. Here's a neat selvage blog that always has a great show and tell.
Thank you Karen for all your hard work!

Oh, how I love red! I can't wait to see what you make with all of those lovely squares. Have fun!
What a neat idea! I love red and can see those in lots of ways. I've just begun to save selvages but already I have a quite a few. The cutest thing I've seen is a sewing/office chair upholstered with fabric made from sewing all those selvages together. blessings, marlene
I have a new found passion for red and white quilts! I can't wait to see what you do with these!
Have a wonderful week!

Great idea! And I love red.. it adds life to a room like no other color.
I too was just as tickled to receive my package of red & white squares in the mail and could not wait to get my hands on them and check each one out. It didn't take me long before I decided what I would do with mine, and I got started last night on my next fabric adventure using the 10 minute block technique! I started a recently but have not posted the first thing yet - I think I know what it might be now! Love how you displayed yours! Can't wait to see what you do with them!
Whooo-red is my favorite color : )Remember my red pig you made me-I still have it right above my desk : )
How fun! I see placemats and tablerunners and quilted coasters and hot pads....
I would go simple...1/2 square triangles with white... show off all those pretty reds... a great picnic quilt or picnic tablecloth..
I swapped with Sew Many Ways also! I see 2 of my squares there! I just finshed my top today, working it.
Congrats on the selvage win.
