Could a camper be in our future?

Today the blacksmith and I took a road trip about an hour and 10 minutes from the house.

It was to look at a 2002 Casita 16 foot Freedom Deluxe travel trailer. The price sounded good.

Here is the dining area and the sleeping area behind it makes into a living room, after you reset the couch. I am already dreaming of the quilt I could make for the bed. (and I'd make my bed a little neater too.)
The small kitchen included a built in microwave behind the door, with a refrigerator below. The two burner stove looked brand new. What I didn't take a picture of was the bathroom with a shower. It was a lot packed into a small space, including built in air conditioning.

The main concern the blacksmith has is the exterior. It is fiberglass which has not been waxed probably ever. It's a little oxidized and would need lots of TLC to restore it.
Still thinking about . . .

You could have fun with that! Our pop-up is about that size, but of course, it's soft-sided and not nearly as sturdy. We're looking to move up to a pull-behind camper of some sort, but it will probably be a couple of years before we can do it.

I am remembering all those years ago when my late husband and I would go camping every weekend and a month each summer.....I know you will enjoy it......:-) Hugs

Oh that looks like fun.
I think a little wax and an electric buffer and hubby will be good to go.
You will enjoy it so much.
Hope you do it.

Looks great! There are lots of products out there to clean up fiberglass exteriors so I'm sure you guys could get it looking even better. But if you're interested (or anyone else) in a little bigger unit, we still have our 25 ft. pull behind travel trailer for sale :) Now that we have the RV - we need to get rid that one!

I know you both could fix the outside up good as new! And it would be fun to see what you do to the inside Patti. Good luck on your decision! I think you would have a great time!

What's not to love? Go for it! We probably have a good spot for it somewhere here, if you'd like to camp out for awhile :) Fun! -Tammy

Oh Im so jealous LOL I hope things work out and the right decision is made for you both. We used to camp in a Road Trek camper van back when the kids were young and we all just had so much fun, not much room but we had a place to sleep and cook our food and use the bathroom LOL we even took the dog with us :o) I miss those days and I hope me and hubby get to do that before we die again.

I know of a camper that is about to get repo'd...he owes just under $12k...The front and back pull out into beds. Kitchen with stove, microwave, oven, sink, fridge. Bath with hand shower. Table and chairs with fold down couch across from it. Jayco Jayfeather 19h...2005. If it gets repo'd he is taking me down with him. And I just have 2 more days before they say they are taking action...just in case you wanted something else to look at. Just saying.

A camper could definitely be in your future. You and Bernie would have great fun traveling the country in that. A little wax and a lot of TLC will do wonders.

Looks like fun! I'd be immediately thinking about a quilt and probably curtains too!

That could be a fun project for you. I can just see one of your quilts on the bed.

Camping is one thing we do not have in common. I liked it when I was a kid...I could never understand why my mother never seemed to enjoy it.....now I know...it was way too much work for her...of course in those days we had a tent for six people.

I know lots of people really enjoy camping. I hope you have fun if you decide to go for it.
