Rain, Rain, go away

So this is how my morning started. When we got up we already had over an inch of rain, closer to two. It even cut down on the hummingbird population.

I then went to town. Found a great piece of linen in the remnant basket at Joann's for $1.31. I am going to make the Noah Ark's from Lynette Anderson Designs. I also found a Leisure Arts Book , Beginner's guide to Felting. It was marked down from $10.95 to $2.36 at Hobby Hobby. Of course they had all their blown glass Christmas ornaments on sale 40% off. So I just had to get some.

The constant down pour made the staying in the store shopping a little more fun. My last stop was to pick up some fresh chicken. Brady and Alex were coming to dinner and they love fried chicken. After all it's their Mommy and Daddy's 9th Anniversary. The boys will stay with us while the parents go out and celebrate.
Happy Anniversary Son and DIL. We love you.

After dinner I went outside in the light falling rain and snapped a couple of pictures of one of our Persimmons trees. Between the weigh of all the fruits and the soaking rain, it has fallen over. We have never seen the trees this loaded with fruit in the 15 years we have lived here.

On my way into the house I noticed this is what the gauge registered. 3 Inches!

I hope the rain goes away for you. We just missed Gustav, but Louisiana and North got it bad. Keep us posted.

Ok I'm jealous over the linen. And I was in Hobby Lobby this week! You were in JC, right? I finally drove out of the rain this afternoon and am at home basking in the cool temperatures. blessings, marlene
