The good, the bad and the ugly

Some days I ask myself, why do I blog. Other days I tell myself, I have to write some thing. Just perhaps the grand kids will some day want to see what their grandmother's life was like.

Today they may not want to look.

First I have to tell you why I am posting self portraits. My morning ritual with my cup of Mocha Cappuccino, is to catch up on friends I have made through the journey of blogging. This morning was no difference.

When I came to Perennial Passion I see Zoey is going red. I must tell you that Zoey and I have a lot in common. We both are addicted to paper piecing and quilting. We have almost identical clocks. We both have an on going battle of pesky deer and multiplying rabbits. Both of our states start with the letter M. Last, she just had her hair recolored in a very short period of time, because there was not enough red in it.

WOW, I have that same hair appointment scheduled for this afternoon. My hair was colored just 4 short weeks ago. Due to the economy (or being a tight wad) I usually wait 8 weeks between appointments. But this last coloring had too much blond and not enough red. I had told the hairdresser to do away with the layers and let some of the bangs grow out.

I quickly fired off a comment to Zoey on her blog about the coincidences. She emailed me right back, that I too need to put before and after pictures on the blog. OMG what nerve I must conjure up to do this.

It is then that I realize I have to take my own photos. I wasn't sure my arms were long enough. So here we go. In this first shot it's the bedhead look. AKA Ugly.

Before any woman goes to the hair dresser doesn't she try to fix it first. This is then what I came up with. AKA Bad.

This is the Good. I told the hair dresser who knows me well. the next time I ask for something different shoot me. She is the professional and she should tell me I don't know what the heck I am want.

Oh and by the way, did you know my daughter in law is a professional photographer. Maybe I should have stopped by there. No second thought, I didn't want to scare the grandsons.

You look lovely! But you're a pretty lady period.

I'm too chicken to color my hair yet. Even with the grey 'feelers' poking up here and there.

Red is definitely your color! It used to be mine, too, before God decided to color it Himself. :) blessings, marlene

Oh much better! My daughter has the prettiest natural red hair - women would pay a fortune for it - the lucky girl!!

Yup that is indeed a Rowe from 1991. I have pottery from several different companies so I checked to make sure.

Have a great day!
