It's awful quiet around here!

The past few weeks, since school let out,  we have been some busy grandparents.

Lizzie made s'mores with the new Jif Chocolate spread.

Alex made fudgesicles with chocolate pudding.

Brady, Lizzie, and Alex ate the fudgesicles.

We took all three fishing behind the house.

 Patiently Lizzie fished . . .

However, Alex caught the first one.

Maybe the second one too.

 Then Lizzie succeeded.

 and again!

Brady also patiently waited for a bite.

At last he caught one, just as we had decided to go home.

 Just a cute shot!

Another cute shot.

One day we went swimming at Aunt Lona's.

The swim party included a pizza party and fresh fruit.

 A bathing beauty?!

We also celebrated a birthday. Alex turned 10. His mother made an awesome camp fire cake!

Alex went to the flea market with us. He loved the rocks and even purchased some arrowheads.

I gave him a shadow box for his arrowheads and he was one proud guy.

But now it's all quiet here.

It will be for a few weeks.

Summer school has started.

Soon we will get to see this little guy.

I hope he gets cleaned up by then!?!?!?

Happy 12th Birthday grandson!

Yesterday we celebrated the oldest grandson's 12th birthday. Gosh has time gone by quickly!

His mother makes the cutest cakes ever!  the theme was the beach. Soon they will be enjoying their vacation there. Play mobile toys and some goldfish make a beach cake.

Here Brady waits for his birthday song and all the picture taking to end.

He then blows out all his candles. Who knew the sand (graham cracker crumbs) would go everywhere!

Some one enjoyed the cake a little too much!

Happy Birthday Grandson!

Batiks

On the previous post, I showed the quilted wall hanging in Batiks. Batiks are very interesting fabric and no two are alike.

Yesterday I was talking to the daughter in law, she said, Brady the oldest grandson was home doing art home work. He was making batik fabric.

Last night Brady texted me his master piece. Pretty darn awesome for an eleven year old!!!!!!!!

Someone turned 11!

Happy Birthday Brady!

He loved the headlight and tail light Grandpa picked out to go on his new bike.

The present from aunt Sarah and uncle Rusty was a big hit. Take a puffs tissue box, the pop up kind, tape dollar bills end to end, insert into box, and then wrap the box. He was pretty sure it was a never end supply of money.

It seems just like yesterday when he was born.

It's Brady's Birthday

Today the big guy turned 9. Well officially it's not until a few minutes before midnight, but we celebrated any way all day long.

After breakfast, we did a web cam with aunt Sarah in Oklahoma. Here he is just after he opened his gift from her, a new bike helmet.

After lunch I took the brothers to Jefferson City to visit the Webkinz bus. Okay so it was called a bus, but it was really a van.

If this comes to your town, be sure and visit it with the kids. They had free games and gave away great prizes. Each boy, for a bean bag toss, won a webkinz with a key ring attached. Alex then won an outfit for one of his animals. Brady won trading cards. I couldn't get either one to do the karaoke, one prize they both lost out on.

After that we strolled downtown for the sidewalk sales. I had been looking for Elizabeth a pair of crocs. Here she models them. What a bargain for only $3.00

We all celebrated dinner at El Jimador's. Of course birthday boy got the hat, the ice cream on the face and the birthday song.

The rest of us got mini-cup cakes. Elizabeth even enjoyed hers.

And speaking of birthdays, some one at
Flat Creek has a really big birthday today. Please pop over and tell her Happy Birthday!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRADY and TAMMY!!!

Brady's first communion

Sunday was a very special day for Brady. It was special for us too as Grandparents, to see our grandson make his first Holy Communion.

Isn't he cute in his white shirt and tie? Such a little man.

Here is the 1st communion class. They kids worked hard for this. They attendedclasses every Wednesday night during the school year.

Tonight they will celebrate with a pizza and ice cream party.

The family after mass.

We celebrated after church with dinner in town at Colten's. Brady wanted the steak house, even if it was only 11:00 AM! It was his day and he could pick any place he wanted.

Here he is opening his gift from us. It's a Fredrick's cross made by the blacksmith.

I feel pretty safe in say he's probably the first boy ever to receive a hand made cross from his grandfather the blacksmith.

Sarah was home!!!

Yes, the daughter made it home for Thanksgiving weekend. Poor girl was a little late and a few dollars short after she experienced car trouble in Joplin, Missouri. Luckily she found a great shop. She and the car limped to the Goodyear Mechanic. She had her iphone with her while waiting for the repair. Luckily she googled the business and found a $10 off coupon.

She told the guy when he rang up the bill that she had a coupon but it was on her phone. He was nice enough to let her use it.

Saturday, we got to do the mother/daughter shopping trip. After all it is her birthday week!

First we stopped at BK Bakery for some of their awesome pastries. Sarah had carrot cake and a latte, I had tiramisu with Colombian coffee.

Then, on to shopping Maurice's, Bath and Body works, TJ Maxx, Target, even a couple specialty shops.

Later in the day we went to see Mom. Here Mom is sporting a wheelchair. This is what happens after you break your little toe really bad ( 45 degree angle) and can't walk. Here's a great picture of Sarah and her Grandma C.

I just had to throw this picture in of the boys looking for Christmas toys!

What a great 4 day weekend we had with all the kids!

Happy 8th Birthday Grandson

Today the kids, all 3 of them were over for a couple of hours.

It is the big guy's 8th birthday. So they got to do what they love to do, play webkinz's at the same time. It great having 2 computers side by side.

The arm is still suffering. It's wasn't broke, but tomorrow I go for one of these . . .

Stay tuned.

The one arm typist . . . after the skating party

Today was Brady's 8th birthday party. He decided to have a roller skating party.

Here he is skating with one of his classmates.

Grandpa is getting little brother Alex started first on the carpet.

Grandpa and Aunt Sarah lace up.

Cousins Brooke and Bailey take a turn around the rink.

Then Grandma here decided she can do it too. Never mind it's been years since I was on wheels.

Then Grandpa took a fall.

Time for cake.

Then time for ice. ICE. Yes Grandma took a fall. Of course it had to be my left arm, since I'm left handed. My Mom is giving me the sympathy look! HELP me!

So after the skating party, bum arm and all we went for Mexican. Even Elizabeth was ready for a Margarita. I really was!

I'll live with the pain for a day or two. The doctor should be in Monday if I need him.

Anyway . . . HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRADY.
