Grand baby #5 is here

Logan William (William is after my late father) made his arrival almost 2 weeks early. He arrived Easter morning at sunrise.

7 lbs. 10 ounces. 20 inches long. Everyone is doing fine. They were home 36 hours after his birth.

Easter bunny had come a day early at their house. Big brother Connor is now driving in style.

Easter at our house, included frying some delicious fried chicken. The blacksmith was a little under the weather so Jeremy took over for his Dad.

The kids did some egg hunting.

Easter included the lamb cake. As much trouble as it is for me to make this, holy week is probably not the appropriate week to make it, if you get my drift.

Danish twist is an Easter tradition too, here it is before the icing was on.

Easter gifts too were part of the day. We then did some facetiming with Sarah and Rusty and the boys in Florida. Boys, I am going to have to get use to BOYS.

To finish out our day, Lizzie pulled her first tooth. She summed the day up pretty good as she exclaimed "today was a good day, Easter, a new cousin and the tooth fairy!"

Life is good.

Here's a few pictures from the big family get together on Good Friday. There were many gallons of fish fried, a gallon of frogs, hush puppies, and french fries. Always good
carry-in food too.

The evening was topped off with a bonfire.

Life doesn't get much better.

Easter 2014

We missed this little grandson at Easter. We did get to face-time with him several times. He loves to see his 3 cousins talk to him on the camera. The Easter bunny brought him a fisher-price tractor and farm animals, which he dearly loves.

This was to be our traditional lamb cake. The good news is, it was actually very good cut up and without icing. The bad news is it really could have used some strawberries, and we were out.

We really didn't need cake since I had made my second danish twist in 3 days. Warm, drizzled with icing and the blackberry jelly in the crevices is just awesome!! I posted the recipe a couple of years ago. If you need it click here.

The fresh cut flowers given to me by my sweet daughter in law, made the table beautiful. My granite ware is my "country china".

The oldest three grand kids did some posing while their Mom took a few photos in the yard.

Then the Easter egg hunt was on!

After dinner they found their Easter presents.

I've been wanting a good picture of the blacksmith and me with Bentley. This was the best we could get the dog to do. I don't think it will make the Christmas Card cut this year.

Easter 2012

We attended Easter morning Mass at Osage Bend church. Father Kremer just happened to be celebrating his 50th anniversary as a priest. He said from his original class there were 12 left and some of them still knew what they were doing.

Danish twist has long been a tradition at our house on Easter. That is when I remember to use blackberry jelly, right Sarah?

Grandpa and Lizzie start the hunt for eggs.

Brady quickly gets in on the game.

Soon the boys are becoming very competitive.

Lizzie pauses for a picture for her Mom and I took one too.

Brady and Alex help Lizzie go though her presents. I made pillow cases for the kids and put their loot in them!

I thought this was sweet.

The boys took over the TV, so grandpa put Lizzie's DVD in his computer.

It was a nice Easter. Beautiful weather. It would have been nicer if Sarah and Rusty could have come home from Oklahoma, but we did visit using the web cam.

The guys fried two chickens, and two extra packages of legs. I served mashed potatoes, gravy, broccoli and cauliflower salad, jello salad, corn, danish twist, and Easter eggs. Our dessert was blackberry cheesecake.
