My "hot" blacksmith

Isn't he cute?  He's so hot!  He got even hotter when at noon, the outside temperatures reached 101.  After that I quit checking the thermometer.

Yesterday he was demonstrating blacksmithing at the LePage steam engine show. This was our 5th year to participate there.

You can see 2011 here,  2010 here, 2009 here, and  2008 here.

Because the pictures all look alike, I took very few this year.

But this one of Paul driving off I couldn't resist.

The blacksmith's helper, Terry, apparently didn't work too hard, I don't even see a sweat.

LePage Steam engine show 2011

Another fine day at the LePage Steam Engine show.

Our booth was located under a majestic oak tree.

This is their BBQ wagon.

Just a view down the lane.

Lining up for the parade.

Neighbors far and wide line up for the parade. In this case, it's our next door neighbors. Butch, Julie, Jimmy, Mark, and Amber.

Now to see what the real action looked like visit Osage Bluff Blacksmith blog.

LePage Threshing days 2010

What a beautiful day we had in eastern Jefferson City.
The turn out for the steam engine show was bigger than last year.
The blacksmith and his friend Terry were ready to show their wares.
Our booth is ready for business.

The lunch whistle goes off.

Homemade ice cream being made with an antique hit and miss engine.

Rick Wilbers brings in a load of wheat.

Tyler LePage, tries his hand at forging.

Lunch is served under this big old oak tree.

A real nice tractor, if only it were red.

Lepage Threshing day, 2nd time around

It was a beautiful day in the country. It was our second time to attend and particapate in LePage's threshing days. The only bad
thing was the heat and the gosh darn humidity! 87 degrees, and felt like 100 according to weather.com.

The meat for lunch was furnished. It was some awesome smoked meats. The pork steaks were about an inch and a half thick. Cooked to perfection. You could cut them with a plastic knife.

Since I am so drained tonight, I will leave you with a few pictures of the day in no certain order.

Elizabeth even came to watch Grandpa. He said she had her sweat band on all day.

Finally a picture of BT and Terry. They were working on a Fredrich cross. For a video of them working visit

Tomorrow we get to do it all over again!
